Introduction:
This article illustrates how to log on to the modem main page. It is used for advanced settings and options such as placing the modem in bridge mode see How to Set the Modem for Bridge Mode. For Quick Setup instructions with a single computer see How to Set the Modem for PPPoE Mode . The steps below should only be taken after the physical connections are made on the modem and computer. You should have ensured that you've connected all filters, ethernet, phone and power cables before proceeding.

How to Log on to the Modem Main Page

Verify first that the “Power”, “Ethernet”, and “DSL” LED light indicators are on and solid before proceeding with the steps below.

1. Open your Internet browser and type http://192.168.1.1 into the address bar, then press Enter.
2.   On the login screen, you are prompted to do one of the following:
   
   
   • If you have the password, enter it, click Login, and proceed to step 4.
   • If you do not have or never added a new password, you must delete the pre-entered content and manually enter the default password 1234, and click Login, then proceed to step 3. If you do not enter a password, it will only give you read only access. If you have forgotten your password, reset the modem using the reset button located on the back on the device.

3. The DSL modem/router is currently using the default password. To protect your network from unauthorized users we suggest you change your password at this time. Please select a new password that will be easy to remember yet difficult for others to guess. We suggest you combine text with numbers to make it more difficult for an intruder to guess. Enter your new password in the two fields below and click Apply. Otherwise click Ignore to keep the default password.



4. After changing the default password you will be prompted to login to the interface using your new password.



5. You will be given the opportunity to choose the Wizard or Advanced mode. In order to configure the modem for bridge mode you MUST select the radio button next to Go to Wizard Setup and click Apply.



6. You are taken to the modem main menu page as shown below:



Important: If you did not delete the pre-entered content and manually enter "1234" before clicking Login, you will not have any menu options as show below. You will need to Exit the modem page and log back in by manually entering "1234".
