RMICMS™ Frequently Asked Questions
 

To Edit a Contact, simply go to [CONTACTS] and click on the [Edit] button next to the Contact you wish to Edit.
The [Orders] button appears if the Contact's associated User has placed any e-Commerce Orders and links to the Contact's Orders. You must have access to e-Commerce to view the Orders. 
Here is a list of all the Contact properties and how each is used by RMICMS™:

Basic Information

This information is used to pre-fill any Billing Information Page, Order Preview Page, or My Account Profile Page and is updated automatically after any Order, Custom Form, My Account Profile Page, eMail Preferences Page, or corresponding User account is updated.

NOTE: Contacts are linked to their corresponding User accounts by this value.  Contacts do not have to be linked to User account.

Opt-Out:

If this field is selected, no eMail campaigns will send eMails to this address.  It can be set manually, or automatically by the recipient through their eMail Preferences Page.

The Contact's website URL.

Lead Source:

How this Contact was sourced.

Home Address
This information is used to pre-fill any Custom Form Page and is updated automatically after a Custom Form containing a field that is "Linked to Contact" is updated.

Description: This is a text area you can use to add notes and other information on the Contact that doesn't fit any other field in the Contact.

Contact Groups
A Contact can be organized into one or more Contact Groups.  If the Contact Group is a "eMail Subscription" Contact Group, then an additional check box appears next to the Contact Group name to opt-in or opt-out the Contact from the Contact Group (mailing list).
NOTE: It is not possible for to subscribe to a Closed Subscription Contact Group from the eMail Preferences Page.  Therefore, if you want the Contact to be included in eMail Campaigns to any Closed Subscription Contact Group, you must select "opt-in" next to the Contact Group.

Membership
The Membership Properties control access by the User account associated with a Contact to all Membership Sections on your site.

Account Number:

This number should be a unique value imported from a membership database, using the Import Contacts feature. Leave this field blank if this Contact is not a Membership.
TIP:  If you want RMICMS™ to create unique Member IDs for your Members automatically, you can do so by having a User order a Product that adds Membership Expiration Days.  .  See Products for more information.

Expiration Date:

This value will prevent Members from logging into RMICMS™ after a certain date.  If this field is left blank, then the Membership is considered lifetime (doesn't expire).
TIP: This field can also be incremented automatically when a Product is ordered. See Products for more information.

NOTE: To create a Member automatically, a Visitor MUST register.  You cannot manually create a User account for a Member in RMICMS™.  The Membership Entrance Page provides this function.  See Membership Entrance Page Type for more information on creating Members.
