RMICMS™ Frequently Asked Questions

RMICMS™ allows you to edit any Page Region or Common Region easily using the built-in WYSIWYG Page Editor. Much like a word processor, the RMICMS™ WYSIWYG Page Editor allows you to add text, images, tables, links, and even embed media files. You can also style your content using Formats and Custom Formats.

To launch the WYSIWYG Page Editor, click on any Page and then click "Edit Page". Once in Edit Mode, click on any red or green "Edit" button to edit that region of the Page. This will "pop up" the WYSIWYG Page Editor Window where you will then be able to add and style your content.

WARNING: The red dashed lines indicate an area of content that is only located on THAT Page. All other editable areas of different colors indicate content that is COMMON to some, many, or all other Pages across the website, so be careful when editing if the dashed edit area is not red!!! Changes to all editable areas are updated in real-time and there is no undo. Because of the danger in editing Common Page Regions, only a User with Manager, Designer, or Administrator Role can edit these regions.

TIP: Since the WYSIWYG Page Editor must translate your styling into HTML tags, sometimes it gets "confused" when these invisible HTML tags get overlapped or inadvertently removed. If formatting the content seems to be giving you trouble, use the Tag Picker (or "Path" located at the bottom of the Editor Window) to select the content you wish to edit. Once selected, use a combination of the Remove Formatting feature, in addition to setting Format to "None", and setting Custom Format to "None". With a little practice you will get good at styling your content!

WYSIWYG Page Editor Functions
Here are is an explanation of all the functions available to you within the WYSIWYG Page Editor pop-up window. TIP: Many of the features are also accessible by placing the cursor at the area in the Page Region that you want to perform an action, and clicking the right mouse button.

New Document
Click this icon will clear all the content within the Editor Window. This is useful if you want to clear the region and start over, it will clear any invisible formatting tags that might be present in the content.
